Clean Environment

When Linear Way is used in a clean environment, such as a clean room, the environment must not be contaminated by dust generated by the Linear Way, and it must have excellent rust-prevention properties, as rust-prevention oil cannot be used.

Stainless Steel Linear Way

IKO Linear Way lineup includes products with stainless steel parts instead of carbon steel. As stainless steel is more rust-resistant than carbon steel, it is optimal for applications where oil and rust-prevention oil are not preferred. It is also suitable for use in a cleanroom environment, so use IKO clean grease that helps prevent dust generation.

Low Dust Generation Grease

In advanced industrial fields such as semiconductors, liquid crystals, and computer peripherals, a high level of cleanliness is required because even fine dust particles suspended in the air adversely affect product quality.  In these industrial fields, environmental control technologies using clean rooms are necessary, and mechanical components with low-dust-generating performance are required for the linear motion rolling guides used in clean rooms. IKO Low-dust generation grease has superior lubricating and rust-preventing performance, as well as minimal dust generation, comparable to that of high-vacuum grease.

IKO CG2 grease is a low-dust-generation grease that consists of synthetic base oil and urea-type thickener.  This grease offers superior performance across a wide range of temperatures, lubrication, rust prevention, and oxidation stability.

 

IKO CGL grease uses blended soaps as the thickener, and synthetic oil and petrolatum with a low fluid point as the base oil.  In addition to its superior low-dust-generating feature, it offers minimal rolling resistance and high lubrication and rust-prevention performance.

Liquid Crystal Lubricant

IKO developed the world's first LCL Linear Way prepacked with Liquid Crystal Lubricant, which significantly improved lubrication performance while generating low dust, exhibiting low evaporation, and exhibiting low outgassing. Since the lubricant's structure is completely different from that of grease, it dramatically improves the performance of linear motion rolling guides and bearing products used in special environments, resulting in increased reliability.

  • Very little detection in mass spectrometry in vacuum and at high temperatures, at 100°C and 200°C

  • Zero net weight loss in an open atmosphere, even at 100°C over 770 hours.

  • One-tenth the amount of particles compared to lithium soap-based grease.

  • Long-term durability, more than 40 times that of fluorine grease at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, and up to six times more than other grease types, even in high temperatures.

  • Lower rolling resistance than that of fluorine grease or consistency #2 lithium soap-based grease.
